The Variety Bucket: Making up for lost time...

I've been away from the blogging scene for a while, so I thought I might drop a few notes while kicking back with Ben Cousins on the tube...

- Year 12 sucks. You can blame that for my absence.

- February/March is a ridiculous time for the NBL finals. How the eff do I get along to Saturday's game when Melbourne Victory are shooting for the A-League grand final at the same time and the Cats have a game on too?

- The Christmas/New Years period would be a far better time for the NBL finals. Get in before the tennis, before the cricket hits prime time, before people start caring about the A-League, before the footy media hype... oh, and capitalize on that whole public holiday thing.

- Ben Cousins hasn't been fabulous tonight. All that talk about taking some time to settle in was right on the money.

- Dream Team has a tendency to take over my life. You can also blame that for my absence.

- Where have all the Victory scarves gone? This time two years ago, they were EVERYWHERE!!!

- Signing Carlos Hernandez is a no-brainer. Pay whatever the Costa Ricans want. Remember, it took Fred half a season to settle into that attacking midfielder role. It took Carlos an entire season. Who knows if someone of their calibre can be found for a third time?

- There should be a rule: tickets for the first round of any finals series should be EXACTLY the same price as their regular season equivalents.

- Adidas are ruining the football guernsey.
